The Story
My name is Rachel and I live in a great little town in South Carolina. I grew up a military brat and travelled all over the world. I never thought I’d be living in a small-ish southern town but here I am and I love it.
I’ve always been interested in art and began by drawing many, many horses when I was 9. My grandmother took me under her wing to teach me watercolor a little later and my mother taught me a love for beautiful penmanship. Everything I create is a product of that legacy.
I went to school for archaeology and geology and put art away for a long time. When my son was born, however, I needed an outlet and so I picked the brush and pen back up and have been creating ever since.
So much of life is like sailing in uncharted waters, and I like the idea that art and beauty can situate us in like a star or a guidepost. It can either point us to a hopeful future, or bring us fond memories from the past.
